Devlog #2

Merry Christmas and welcome everyone to this week's devlog!
Thank you to starrlun for providing the beautiful image of our character Kaboom admiring Bautista's assets.
This week we've done a lot of work in game design, more specifically our PFAG system. This describes the way every NPC will react to events around them. Each NPC will keep track of their PANIC, FEAR, ANGER, and GRATITUDE. As our main character interacts with the environment and enemies, NPCs will naturally respond to it depending on their own propensities. We hope for this system to allow the world to feel more immersive and reactive to the player. We ultimately want the player to feel like their actions matter, not through dialogue but through the actual interactions. Sleuth gave us some pretty cool icons to help us visualize it.
Sleuth also iterated on some logo designs. It's difficult to find the balance between readability and appeal. We also want the logo to be representative of the overall style of the game, but style will have to come pretty organically as we create our environments and NPCs.
